Global Specialties introduces the PB-600, Power Electronics Trainer.
Power Electronics is the study of controlling and converting electrical energy. This is achieved primarily through the use of semiconductor devices. Power Electronics play a key role in the design process of today’s more advanced technologies. A trainer can provide future Engineers and Technicians with a solid understanding of these electrical circuits.
Designed with students and educators in mind, the PB-600 is ideal for colleges, universities, and technical schools. The unit features both DC and AC fixed power supplies.
Semiconductor devices being central to power electronics, the PB-600 provides SCRs, MOSFETs, IGBTs, and TRIACs along with others. The user will be able to vary the firing angle from 0 to 180° using the built in firing circuit.
On board the trainer is a selection of circuit components such as diodes, resistors, capacitors, and inductors, all specifically chosen to work with the exercises in the Student Lab Manual.
Connection jacks, on the front panel, are insulated for safety and to prevent damage to the components. In the case that a part is damaged during student usage, the trainer’s cover can be easily removed to replace the broken piece. Furthermore, replacement components are available, which can be purchased separately as a kit.
The PB-600’s breadboard is removable making it ideal for multiple-student usage.
